Plein air painting and detailed hand-painted sculptures in clay are my true passions. The Lowcountry is so full of beauty and character that I feel one medium simply isn’t enough to capture it all. I’m especially drawn to Gullah life in my sculptures, inspired by the memories of my childhood and the rich history of Hilton Head. In my oil paintings, I focus on preserving the native plants, animals, people, and landscapes, as they are such an important part of this place. For the past 30 years, I’ve made my living through murals and commissions, always working to bring my clients’ visions to life through a composition of rich color and raw emotion.
